The burger. So many possibilities in one delicious, handheld meal. This particular burger is not too fancy, but has a few tasty add-ins to make it extra juicy and full of flavor, which means they are sure to please any palate.
Step 1: Mix your ingredients together
200 grams ground beef
2 TBSP salsa
2 TBSP bread crumbs (I used fresh whole wheat bread crumbs)
¼ tsp sugar
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp worscester sauce
Salt to taste
2 slices cheese (I recommend cheddar)
4 slices avocado, halved
½ white or yellow onion, sliced thinly
1.5 tsp oil
Lettuce, tomato (optional)
Step 2: Let the flavors mellow (optional)
A minimum of 1 hour is ideal.
Step 3: Cook your burgers & onions
The burgers taste great grilled or pan-fried. I recommend a cast iron skillet for fried burgers, if you have one. Put the cheese when they are three quarters done.
For the onions, add the oil to your pan (you can cook them in the same pan as your burgers) and then add the onions, stirring as need to avoid burning them.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to turn the heat up to sear in the succulent juiciness.
Step 4: Fix your burger & eat it
This recipe makes two burgers.
